Tuesdays thrift & an award!

well the sun is shining .. it feels so lovely on your face when your'e walking.. if i close my eyes and not look at the bare branches on the trees i could almost think it was summer

however it is still not warm enough for a sleeveless short jumpsuit that i spotted a girl in before

( and how come these girls all have smooth brown legs and brand new summer outfits on when its still March!!)

it is i have to admit beautiful to be out in the sunshine.. it made me feel that motivated that i even took the baby to the park.. a very rare occurrence for me.. i hate the park.. i hate the constant lifting them up on to the slide.. and then running round to the bottom to make sure they don't go flying off.. i hate the muddy grass and the fact that when its time to leave they normally start kicking up a fuss lying in the muddy grass and i end up in wrestling them into a pram...

but it was alright today!!.. i even managed an hour.. now that's a good mummy don't you think.. usually its fifteen minutes and that's their lot!

anyways to reward myself for my park visit, me and the bubs popped into town before just to have a mooch.. i came away with a few things!

i think the sun was making me aim for brighter things.. as i picked up a flask type item ( it is designed to keep your drinks hot or cold but its got a pushy button not a cup for a top so don't know what you call it!)


but i just loved the bright pattern .. it came with the original box which shows off some more funky patterns..


i love this bird one i think i would have that one as well so might have to have a mooch on eBay for something similar!

i love the little pictures on the back and how very politely we are told it keeps our brews .. "any way you wish!!"..


kinda loving the girls yellow flares in this picture!!

then this bangle which is very like the striped pattern on the flask thingy isn't it.. i need some jewellery for summer time and this would definitely brighten up a dull outfit!

then i picked up ( or dropped actually oops) what i think is jam pot..


a big strawberry!!.. when i lifted the lid out dropped the spoon and broke on me.. stuffed that back into the pot hoping no one would notice.. the lady at the till did.. but gave me 50p off !!!

I'll just have to get the superglue out later !

then these two little glasses.. the red one definitely is a candle holder..but i think the blue one is just a little dish.. but that's going to be a candle holder to.. i love popping tea lights into any old thing.


so there we go.. a nice bright day.. can you believe i haven't got any pegs.. ( i seem to have lost them all since last year how mad is that!) so have not been able to hang my washing out.. a trip to asda should rectify that.. as clothes just brought in off the line has to be one of the best smells ever!!!

so i think i really need to be donning a vintage couture gown .(i would probably need sewing into it!!) putting my feet into a pair of laboutins walking up the red carpet and accepting my award with a large glass of champers..

( or what I'll really do.. is stick on my 99p brand new Jasper Conran pjs from the charity shop .. snaffle on the Chinese takeaway that we've just ordered.. have a vodka and coke.. and watch the last of the David Tenant Dr Whos.. sob .. Matt Smith who now plays him is just to twitty for me!!) )

7 things about me

1.I get really bad headaches when i eat fudge, shortbread or pork pies!!...

i know it sounds a bit mad doesn't it.. but even the smell of shortbread sets me off with a headache..not sure why!!

2. Ive been with the hubby for coming up to eight years and we have only ever been to the pictures once together.. that's right...once!!.. i hate the pictures.. i hate the fact i have to sit there the whole time.. i like to get up and have a walk about ..and i hate the fact I'm always cold wherever i sit once I'm in there.. oh and the film we did get to see when we went.. Narnia!!

3. i once did a carboot were i made the grand total of £7...it wasn't even enough to cover the pitch which was £8!..it was a horrendous day that .. it was raining and i had to stand under a plastic sheet never again i said!!

4. my ideal saturday when i was a kid wasnt going to meet my friends at the local shopping centre to hang out.. it was going to our corner shop,buying a can of cherry coke, a bag of crisps and a mars bar ( you could get a lot out of a pound back in 93!!) and then watching a black and white film all afternoon... i loved it.. i used to sip my cherry coke out of a vintage shot glass from a set we had to make me feel sophisticated and also to make it last longer!!

5. me and the hubby are currently going through a Dr Who phase... we have lent all the DVDs from my nephew from when David tenant was the Dr and are making our way through them each night.. i tell you its crazy in our house, we have become a little bit obsessed talking about them like its real..!!!..

6.i am a real nosey parker.. if i walk past or we are driving past peoples homes and their curtains are open with the light on .. i always look in.. i think that's why i love blogging and reading peoples blogs becasue i just love nosing around peoples home.. i should be an estate agent really shouldn't i !!!

7.i had an imaginary friend called Michael Charm when i was little..he was so real to me that i used to make my mum set a place for him at the table.. it makes me laugh now.. i mean were did i get the name Michael Charm from!!!

now i am suppose to then award 15 other bloggers which i think is an awful lot and I'm sure most of you had it anyways so I'm going to do what I've done in the past and say that any of you lovely ladies who read my blog be sure to take the award for yourself and let us know some things about you... they have to be a whole lot more interesting than mine anyways !!!

always wanted to do one of those terrible award speeches.. award gripped near to my heart.. the tears flowing.. me wearing a vintage fish tail gown.. it ain't going to happen is it..

So here's my 7 things about myself but it isn't that versatile nor interesting ...sorry!

1. i get very excited by the thought of making over furniture, giving a tatty old piece of brown formica a whole new look with the power of the paint brush.. i get sleepless nights over things like that... now that is sad isn't it!!!

2. when i was a child i was obsessed with brides.. i use to draw wedding dresses and collected pics of wedding dresses and would keep them in a file. i didn't particularly want to be a bride i just wanted to be a wedding dress designer.. once i even started a range for pregnant brides ..how very modern of me!!!


3. I'm a terrible cook... i try my best and no matter what i cook it always tastes of nothing, or something goes wrong!!.. now i make a good cake so i suppose I'll have to be grateful for that at least, Ive only ever made one roast dinner in my life!

4. my favourite colour is pink and in my little house i had when i was 21..i painted the dining room all in bright pink.. it had silver accessories.. i thought it was amazing at the time.. thinking back it was pretty vile!

5. i would love to open my own shop and sell lots of pretties.. lots of china and fabric and pretty things for the home.. it would be called pretty vintage and have a cornflower blue exterior with red geraniums in pots outside to make it look cheery.. and then pale blues and reds and pinks on the interior!!

6. I'm constantly on a diet but have such terrible willpower.. that the hubby only has to suggest the idea of crisps or sweets or a takeout and Ive fallen of the waggon.. not good.. especially when i cant get into any of my clothes!!!

7. i am a real period drama fan.. my favourite at the minute is Downton Abby.. i am gutted that its the last one on Sunday as it is just so lovely to watch.. other faves have included pride and prejudice, i even loved Lost in Austin as it was so gentle and romantic to watch.. i always think I'm miss hard hearted but i think I'm a bit of a softy really!!.. and one of my fave films is sense and sensibility. .. my favourite line from that is.. "there is some blue sky...let us chase it !"

well thats my lot.. see not very interesting but thats me!!!..
